I agree with all you said about the intelligence and good qualities of
pigs!   Yes, those smarts are exactly why they could not be caught in the
traps.  Remember, tho, that these pigs were deliberately (and illegally) 
introduced into the area, possibly by ranchers who also like to hunt. 
There ARE naturally wild pigs -- peccaries, javelinas -- but these feral
pigs were NOT natives, and because of the damage they were causing, it
was right to remove them.  Nuff sed.   Connie B
