DISCLAIMER - The following is my opinion - if you don't like it, you can
stick it ... in your trash folder.

Hunters who want to help control deer population should not go out and
get a trophy buck.  You can kill all the trophy bucks you want, but if
there's just one mongrel buck left to breed, you'll have exactly the
same number (or more) of deer next year - my theory here is that less
bucks = more feed, the one buck left still breeds all the does, who then
have twins because there's more feed.

Therefore, forget the trophy animals.  Go for the does if you're worried
about the deer population, and let's not pretend that trophy hunters are
helping the deer population in any way (taking the most prime specimens
and leaving the worst to breed.... goes against all understanding of
good herd maintenance anyway).  Lif
