Proposed banning of horses from Sycamore Grove Park

To all riders in the San Francisco Bay Area: Read the message below
and please write urging the preservation of horse trails in Sycamore
Grove Park. At this point I do not know why they are proposing closure,
but that's where they are headed. Please contact Debbie for more
information. Attend the meeting if possible. Many thanks, Connie
Berto, AERC Trails Committee Chair

Subject: Proposed banning of horses from Sycamore Grove Park

URGENT!

We have received notice that the Livermore Park District is meeting to
discuss banning horses, bikes, dogs and other activities from the new
area
of Sycamore Grove Park that will open in 2000. Many dedicated area
horsemen
campaigned in support of the South Livermore Plan in order to obtain this
new acreage for the park, with the clear understanding that these trails
would be open to horses!

The meeting will be Dec. 8, 1999 at 7:30 at Livermore City Council
Chambers.
3575 Pacific Ave., Livermore. This meeting is VERY important for anyone
who
uses the park or supports trail access for horses in the Bay Area. If the
district is successful in banning horses from the new area, it could
eventually lead to a ban of horses from the entire park. We urge everyone
to
attend this meeting or write a letter about your concerns. LARPD's phone
number is 925-373-5700; their email address is larpdpio@pacbell.net.
Snail
mail goes to 71 Trevarno Rd., Livermore, CA 94550-2277.

Thank you,
Debbie
BAEN
