: Pulling Back



YOu have to know what you are doing with this method too. I had to use it
to retrain my pony to tie- but we did not run it through his halter.
AND,we did not tie the horse's head, just wrapped around the pole once so
we could quick release it. I teach my babies to tie by taking one wrap
around something sturdy, and I STAY with them. You do have to watch
yourself because they may go up, down, sideways, or whatever else to get
loose, and if they throw themselves down you have to let the end of the
lead go with them... gotta be quick on your feet. At any rate, i have
only had one or two try to throw themselves down more than once. And not
one broken neck. I would be devastated. But it would be worse if they
grew up and knew they didn't have to tie when it was deathly important.
So, no method is 100%, and you have to know the limits of your method,
and respond quickly if need be. But here's my take on it! :)
