Re: Ulcers in horses

Along with being on the sick list with her sesamoid, Dorika was diagnosed
with an ulcer at the same time. She had a runny stool and was eating very
slowly, most unlike herself. She is taking 10 Zantac tablets morning and
evening and it seems to be helping because the stool is no longer runny.
Other than a 3 meter endoscope, a very rare beast, there's no sure way to
diagnose. On the other hand, the Zantac is relatively problem free and not
tooooo expensive (about $40/10days) and seems to be helping.
Changing her food wasn't really an option as we had nothing to change it to
and the change in her didn't coincide with a diet change anyway.
Good luck.
