Re: RC: Re: extra help on trail

Well, yes, I have thought about it and it has been of some concern for me.
Nelson will usually offer a separate bucket for other's horses. However,
sometimes, on some of the rides I have been on, there is a "community"
water source at some point or another. Many often offer some means of
scooping the water out into something else (bucket or bowl) for your horse
to drink, not all. I guess, if my horse really needed a drink of water and
it had to be a shared source, I would let him have the water...I think
endurance horses are probably the best vaccinated and healthiest horses I
have seen at most types of events. I have pulled him away from icky looking
puddles though...what IS IN some of those? I can see little things moving
around and it gives me the willies!! It will be interesting to see others'
comments. What is the greater risk, a thirsty horse or a shared water
source?
