Re: RC: saddle pads

Hi Dovie: Have you tried a toklat woolback pad yet? That's my favorite -
by far. Good quality wool, easy to care for and it lasts and lasts. I've
done all of the rides you mentioned, and can't really say that Oroville was
harder but the trail markings made it a bit more 'mentally' challenging. I
think that what made it hard was the combination of heavy winter coats on
(some of) the horses combined with some humidity and warm temps --- really
changes things. Though to be honest, memories fade fast sometimes of how
difficult things are. I've done the 50 at Tahoe Rim, and at Washoe I've
done the 25 twice and the 100 three times......so can't really say what the
50 was like compared to Oroville. I think winning times are similar
tho.....but then normally any real competition at Washoe is usually entered
in the 100 and not the 50 so you aren't comparing hot shoes to horse
shoes. ;~)

P.S. don't be shy about asking people about things -- most of us are more
than happy to share info!
