Re: cars roads and passing horses

Thought I would add this little tidbit here. It is a known fact that some
Laws were never changed in the evolvement from horses to vehicles. Such as a
tidbit I had read Along time ago it was stated that a horse was given all
right of way when it meets a car. If you went to an intersection you had to
stop your car turn engine off. look in all directions and then restart your
car and go ahead. to prevent scaring the horse. Also some cars had wooden
horse heads put on the front bumper to prevent horses from getting scared.
....yeah righhhht suuuure. It is my habit if I see horse and rider to give
as much room and go wayyyy around the pair. I also go very very slow. I was
dumped on the pavement once by a honking sump truck. The jerk never slowed
down to see if I was okay. I was going from one pasture to another and had
100 yards of pavement. against a fence. the thing is I had about 7ft of
grass area between fence and pavement.. the horse just freaked. regardless
I got a plate number and a number for the place he worked. Had I had known
the OLD laws I could probably cleaned the company out. but being a horse
person I should have found a different safer route to get to point B.
Carla (hard headed)
Baru (wasnt me)
Haley (me needer)
Rob (we ride on PAVEMENT???)
