Re:Road Riding Question

I too live where I need to ride along side of the roadway at times and
have had good luck facing traffic and signaling to traffic to slow if
necessary. Being a retired police officer I can tell you that in Idaho
if you wish to cite someone ( horses have right of way) you will need
the license plate and vehicle type and also be able to identify the
driver of the vehicle by description. You also must be able to testify
in court that the person cited was the same person driving the vehicle.
You will need the time and location of the incident. Reporting it
immediately after the incident would be the best. If that licensed
vehicle is owned or operated by someone fitting your description the
officer can issue a citation if that person admits to driving in the
area or you identify them as the person. I would also have other
information documented for court etc. previous times dates and locations
of troubles with the same driver and what attempts you made to slow the
driver down. In Idaho you have to sign the citation and appear in court
to present your case.
