Trail Safety

Jean Wonser cpfjean@bellsouth.net
If you have a permit to carry a firearm there are very nice
holsters that fit real close and snug up high on the waist,
under the arm. The type revolver to have is probably the short
barrel, like 2 inches, as they weigh very little; And being a
revolver are about the safest to carry mounted.

If you ever needed it to defend or scare a person or animal away
it really needs to be right on your person, not in a fanny pack.
Safety wise then the gun is pointed properly in a carry position.
You have no control over direction in a fanny pack.

The big thing is get a Permit and have the proper training in
safety as well as the ethics of when to use the gun.

The most basic rule is never point a gun unless you are prepared
to shoot. This is the most serious error many parents
of gun accident kids have failed to teach their
children.

For those of you in Florida we are going to mounted
Police School in
Ocala next week. There will be other sessions around the East
also. Check out
