back spasms

Help!  Today I took my mare for a typical conditioning ride, about 18 
miles, mostly trotting w/some walking.  We did quite a bit of bending 
and some collection work, but mostly just typical endurance type 
trotting.  No, I do not let her trot w/head up, hollow back.  When we 
got back home, she started moving short behind, and when I stopped 
her, she camped out, hollowed her back, and I could feel the long 
muscles on either side of her spine spasm.

I do have her well blanketed, but she's in obvious discomfort, and 
sinks dramatically when touched.  She is eating, and is calm.

Any suggestions?
