I've noticed the pads themselves seem to warp a little and appear to have
a bump. I've heard of sand building up under pads from several people.
You can probably take pliers and pull the silicone out if you like. The
only way I've been successful cutting out pads it with hoof nippers. You
can trim it back until you have more of a rim pad. My vet had me use
formaldehyde painted on the sole to harden it after removing a pad.
