Re: Unidentified subject!

I am really surprised that everyone doesn't use as much beet pulp...I take
a 40# bag with me on rides and rarely come home with much, if any left. I
feed them (especially Jonathan who doesn't like to drink much at first) a
nice big tub of wet beet pulp with a smidgen of sweet feed and pellets, a
carrot and an apple 3 or 4 times on Friday plus their regular grain ration
before I go to bed. I am trying to think of how much I put into this big
tub....at least 2 big scoops (2 qt. size, I think?) of beet pulp. The
other stuff is mostly flavoring. But this seems to have solved my problem
of making sure they have plenty of moisture to begin with. We used to get
Bs on hydration/skin tenting. They will almost always get As straight
through now. I think all that wet slop really helps. They also get all
the hay they want...we keep it front of them all the time.
