My interpretation of the by-law would be that that 15 mile ride is an LD ride
and all riders would HAVE to receive official AERC LD milage if we let the 0-49
by-law stand.  Its why I am opposed to it.  That and the $10 non-member fee
that would also have to be collected under the by-law.  A much better
alternative IMO would be for AERC to simply require that any one offering an
extra event with an AERC event have insurance coverage on the extra event and
perhaps require any extra event to have veterinary control.  This would cover
CTR's as well as novice rides for areas that do not have a CTR organizations.
Call me ornery but I don't think AERC should expand its definition of endurance
to cover any ride (even 1 mile) where a horse passes a veterinary exam at start
and finish and that is what the 0-49 LD by-law does as I read it.
