What a shame. If what I read on ridecamp is correct, I hope the injured 
spectator will be ok. I think one thing that would help for future rides, 
would be to use bright orange surveyors tape and mark off the area. Make 
signs Finish horses racing etc. and have a person in that area to keep it 
clear when horses are finishing.
I thought AERC considered 25 mile rides a clinic. In the East, I thought the 
horse whose pulse recovers first is named the winner not the horse who 
crosses the line first in a 25 miler.
