Quarter Horses

Yeehaa! Yes, indeed, I ride a Quarter Horse. He's the best. I just
finished the Norco Riverdance 50 on him last weekend. He did his first 50 at
5 and is now almost 15 and still going strong. Last year I had some health
problems and rode him on his first two 25s ever (he BC'd both). I also have
a full Arab gelding (only 4 and hasn't done any rides yet) and a 1/2 Arab 1/2
Quarter mare (who has done some 25s and 2 50s).

I would definitely own and ride endurance on another Quarter Horse but I
think you have to be mindful of the body type. This guy is 15.3H and weighs
about 975-1000. He has a little running Qtr WAY back in his pedigree and I
think that is what gives him his drive. Around here they call him the "horse
killer" - not because he is mean, he just trots at 16 mph and the others
can't keep up with him.

The thing I really LOVE about this horse is his steadiness. No stupid
spooking or acting up. A real gentleman and all business on the trail.

If you have any other questions, just write. I am always happy to talk about
"Boogie".
