Marathon Horseshoes

My mother tried the marathon shoes. They tore her horses feet up. We are
from the NE and attended a rocky ride, they are supposed to last for 2
resets, they (Julie Brokaw and S.H. Kais) ate them up after 31 miles. she
pulled the shoes and her horse. The shoes seemed to move to much, they
worked the nails holes and really ate the hoof up.

Good luck

Having at least 1000 hard miles on the marathons including the Tevis I am
sorry to hear that they did not work out for your mom. Can I ask you a
couple of questions??

How long were the shoes on before the ride?

Were they 3 or 4 nailed?

How much material was left on the quarters?

What size nail did you use?

Did you check your clinches every so often?

The shoes may not work for every horse, don't know, I have had them on 3
horses since springtime and they worked great. As the shoe wears and the
nail gets set deeper in the plastic you do have to reclinch. But I swear
that the Tevis shoes I did not touch, I watched them very closely and did
not have to touch the clinches.

They are going to have a full glue on shoe soon, which would solve your
problem. I have never ridden on a glue on shoe but will be testing a pair
on training rides soon.
