Yep, and the weight division championships are run on the same format as the 
old NC--where you have to persevere for the whole season.  All it would take 
to recognize the overall point champion would be to tally up the overall 
points in that format (they are already kept).  But you make my point--to 
many of us, being a champion means riding a season and keeping that horse 
together and healthy.
