Angie,
  When I was mixing my own lytes I used Tums, calcium carbonate.  I bought 
the generic brand stuff.  Sometimes I even just broke the tablets up and 
dropped them into the feed.  They didn't seem to show any preference for the 
flavored ones over the plain ones.
  I just buy the Endura-max, Endura-lyte or the Perform and Win now, though. 
  It made a huge difference in my husband's horses recoveries.
