Re: extending the trot

Colleen, I have the same problem with my Quarter mare that is having to take
the place of my lame endurance horse, much to her chagrin. My friend rides a
Morgan that has a fabulous trot. In teaching Flame to trot, I have asked my
friend to slow her trotting down a bit and allow Flame to match her trot. As
Flame gets stronger in the trot we have upped the speed and she is holding
in there. She has improved greatly in just a few weeks. Remember to change
diagonals to strengthen both sides. Hope this works for you.

Does anybody have any ideas on how I can get my gelding to extend at the
trot and trot faster. My husband's gelding does a 16 MPH trot and we often
have to canter to keep up. Help!!
