PAC update

Lots of activity this morning. Perimeter security fences are going
up, tractors driving posts, noise and commotion. Most of the stewards
and officials arrived last night. Camp is almost full, though still
quite a few will arrive today.

I believe the most recent roster has 102 horses starting - Mike
probably has a list from Scott. A couple horses were treated
yesterday for tie-ups, and I've seen a few minor lamenesses.
Final roster will be announced after the vet-in on Friday.

So far the weather has been perfect - in the 70's, nice breeze.
It'supposed to get a little warmer today - up to the lower 80's.
Predictions for the weekend are about the same - 70's and 80's.
The air is dry and clear - even the bugs are behaving. A few
mosquitoes in the evening, but not as bad as we expected. It's
really a beautiful area. Spruce and hardwood trees, open meadows.
Rolling sand hills - mostly covered with vegetation, though a
few of the larger hills/dunes are steep and active enough to
have open sand tops and faces. Very pretty.

Will try to get some pictures of camp and the central meeting
area today and send them to Mike tonight. Not much else to report
this morning... might have a little more by evening.
