Hi Beth.
We have heat like that here in Egypt although we don't have the humidity,
and frankly none of us will work our horses in heat of that level. We wait
until the evening when it's dropped to about 80-85. The cart horses may be
working in the heat sometimes, but not fast, and most of them take it easy
during the hottest part of the day and snooze under a tree. I just don't see
the point, sorry. I've been told that the Pan-Arab games are being held in
Jordan in late August and that there is an endurance competition, but not
for this one thank you, even tho' the head of the Egyptian federation said
he'd send me. I never thought I'd be happy to turn down an offer like that,
but I was....I'll be on a plane to New York that day to see my son settled
into college. Most of the jumping competitions here in the summer start at
4 or 5 pm. Can't figure out what they're planning for the endurance.
