My first horse (3/4 Arab 1/4 Welsh) developed a very fast walk and I can
attest to Heidi's statement that a good walk can get to at least 5 mph.
His walk was still 4 beat but it was a ONE two THREE four gait, with a
space between the first two and last two beats.  Lots of horses had to
trot to keep up with him.  I really enjoyed it, it's very comfortable
once you learn how to ride it and does cover the territory, so I tried
getting my other horses to do it as well.  I'm not sure all horses can
or will do it - of the 5 others I've raced, I've had no success getting
them to do this except for our stallion, Ben Nasrif.  Lif
