This is what my friend Donna tells her students' parents, because she's seen
it many times.  It teaches kids the value of hard work, and gives them a
wonderful focus, besides the companionship that comes with it.  Too bad more
people don't realize what benefits it can have!  Of course, you have to
instill an interest that lasts when puberty hits...!
