MY trailer all loaded with horses weighs about 6000 lbs. I pull it with a 
chevy 1500, with gas engine, a 305 vortec engine. I have hauled all over the 
east, including mountains in Tennesee and North Carolina. To this point I 
have had no problems at all. I did have a transmission cooler added to the 
truck. Hope this helps.
