Re: more truck questions

Sandy,

My truck is a standard cab with a short (6 foot) bed. I
wanted a goose neck trailer but was told by one dealer that
I wouldn't have enough maneuverability to turn easily and
could hit the cab of my truck with the trailer. However, I
discovered that it depends on the style of trailer. If the
front of the gooseneck is flat it's a problem. If it's
partially flat/partially angled it's still a problem. If
it's angled right from where the hitch is, it's OK. I
bought a Sundowner, the angle is fairly sharp and it's fine.
I can do a "tight as you can crank it" U-turn with about 10"
to spare. Since my cab is a standard, I don't know what
impact the extended cab would have.

Have fun shopping!
