Bits - again (quick question)

The recent bit discussion was a very timely one for me. My guy has
suprisingly outgrown the bit we have been using for the past year. Based
on much of the advice and information posted on ridecamp lately I have been
testing out different bits. I have concluded that what I have been using
was by far the best. Now the problem... it is made in either a 5" or
5-1/2". I now own one of each and one is definitely too small, and the
other too big. What are the consequences of riding in a bit too big (I
already know the consequences of riding in one too small)? I can not find
this bit in a 5-1/4 anywhere... unless someone knows of a company that will
do special sizing on a special order bases.

Please post to me privately... not exactly on topic.

Thanks,
