Re: RC: Bloodlines

Hi Sandy,

When I bought Kadance+/ 10 yrs ago I had just gotten started in CTR's with
Farafix who was in his late teens. I didn't know anything about endurance
bloodlines (& didn't even dream of doing endurance back then, anyway!), so I
was looking for a well conformed horse with a big trot. As it so happened,
Kadance is a *Witez great granddaughter, her paternal grandsire is Spanish,
she has lines on her paternal tail female line that are 3/4's the same as
Ferzon, and she also has Fadjur on her paternal tail female line.
When I bred her a few yrs later, I did a lot of looking at stallions, and
decided on a *Serafix/*Caliope grandson (*Caliope is Polish and a full sister
to Celebes, by Ofir, also *Witez's sire). Farafix is also a
*Serafix/*Caliope grandson, so the decision was somewhat sentimental, but I
knew that line had produced a lot of performance horses in cutting, jumping,
& other disciplines, and Fix was a sweet horse with good conformation.
Anyway, Tempo is now 6 and has top 10'd 3 of the 4 50 milers we've done this
yr (12th on the 4th), so it was a nice cross with Kadance's Spanish, Crabbet,
Polish lines.
I've had a lot of begginer's luck with my horses, but I did spend my time
looking for a well conformed horse with a sane temperament.

Let us know what you discover in your research!
