The only danger here is the other riders you are traveling with's horses
finally decide to drink and then yours starts splashing and ruins it. 
You may be hauled off your horse and held under water by the mob.

Sounds like you're off to a good start enjoying the sport.  Now it's time
to get good with that sponge so the horse won't have to take matters into
his own hands.  :-)
