Sorry about not responding sooner, but I didn't get the #622 digest and
just had a friend forward it to me.  I didn't recieve your post
privately either.  I actually like the Powerade, the taste is more
agreeable to me than Gatorade.  It does tend to upset my stomach, but
then most all 'sports' drinks do.  Your advice about mixing it half and
half with water is a good one though, and I will try it.  Does any one
take salt or electrolyte tablets during a ride.  That would be nice,
then you would just need to carry water.

I gave Saffron a scoop of electrolytes in her feed the evening before
and a scoop in her morning feed at 2 AM, before the ride since she was
drinking well.  I also gave her a dose of LYTE NOW at the second vet
check.
