Re: Horses sucking the bit.(was Control and Courtesy)



Rubber bit guards are relatively easy to put on.  Soak them for 30 min. or
so in warm soapy water.  They then will stretch and slip over the rings.  If
they split, the rubber was old and rotten.   I've used them for years.  They
also protect a young horses lips during the time their head is being pulled
around in training.

P. S. Yes I do know the goal is to not need to protect a horse's lips from
abrasion, but sometimes when they are learning etc.  (Don't recommend the
kind with brushes that are supposed to hurt a horse)
