RE: Fat tongue?

Title: RE: Fat tongue?

I do like the idea of bits for toilet paper holders.  I've also seen english stirrups are hand towel holders.  A complete horsey theme!  My husband would DIE!  ("Do you know where your foot was before it stood in that stirrup?  And exactly where was this bit before the toilet paper went on it??")

Hope mentions an 8" shanked high port bit...  I have to caution that even the most severe bit in the world can be milder in the hands of an accomplished horseman than the gentlest snaffle in the hands of a rough cad.  Be cautious in generalizing that a person is cruel because of the bit that they use.

I rode a mare in reining and western pleasure in a full spade bit years ago.  A light touch on the reins (literally) was all she needed for speed control.  Bending and turns were seat & legs with minimal neck reining.  It was riding a cadillac!  I had fine-tuned control that wasn't available in most other bits, but again I knew what I wanted from her, I had a good instructor, and the mare was very finished when we graduated to this level of bitting.

Really?  Do you have the instructions <grin>?  I have a
particular bit (my horse CAME with it!) that I'd like to do
something with besides sell it to a friend that is clueless
and won't learn <GRRR>.  8" shanked high ported curb ...
ouch!  Although not as bad as some I suppose ...
