What do you call a bit with a solid mouthpiece but only
rings (loose ring, eggbutt, D, whatever) and no shank?  I
would call it a Mullen mouth snaffle, but I go with the
description of a snaffle being a bit without shanks.
Also, I personally wouldn't depend on any of the catalogs
for accurate information.  IMO it's likely that they are put
together by people who know nothing about horses.
