Don't forget that it may not be YOUR horse you have to worry about crashing 
through your electric pen--it may be someone ELSE'S loose horse!  I have 
patched up all too many horses who have been injured running loose after 
loose horses have crashed through camp destroying electric pens left and 
right.  Electric pens make nice turnouts when you are there to watch, but 
under NO circumstance would I EVER leave my horse loose in an electric pen in 
an endurance camp if I were not literally sitting right next to my rig.
