Insurance

My experience is also with Markel - they were fine, altho it took months
to be paid. There wasn't actually a problem, the time it took was
because of the documentation necessary. No matter what company you use,
it is EXTREMELY important to follow ALL of the company's instructions to
the letter. Read the policy carefully, read the requirements and follow
them to the letter! If you start with a reputable company & do exactly
everything they say in a situation where there might be a claim, you
will have no problems. The catch is that in emergency situations it's
sometimes hard to remember what to do, especially if your horse is not
in your care/control at the moment.... So let anyone who handles your
horse, or where your horse is cared for, know about insurance
requirements as well, and maybe post them for yourself and for others to
follow.
