Some horses do have a sensitivity to biothane.  My mare will try and rub a
biothane bridle off because it causes her to sweat and itch so much.  The
sweat would be thick lather all around the bridle while her neck sweat ran
clear.  I never tried the breastcollar because of this and went back to a
nylon headstall pretty fast.  This horse is also sensitive to liniments and
brace washes.  If your horse has sensitive skin, try borrowing someone's
biothane before making the investment.
