RE: RE: RE: RE: Fw: Drugs

Truman:

You stated<<< The AERC members have a right to know what the real levels
are. The BOD should not be playing "I've got a secret" on this issue.>>>

Please be aware the Board of Directors of the AERC did not promulgate this
drug rule nor do they have the latitude to change it. This rule was
originally a rule that said NO DRUGS!!! Get caught and you are out the door.
I can show you the precedent and actions where this happened. The Vets then
became aware the testing was getting much more exact and cut the sport some
latitude expecting the riders to be a bit more sophisticated than it appears
they are. Thus the current drug rule!

Now, I say this once again and I hope for the last time, If you are not
satisfied with the current rule, approach the Vet Committee Chair with a
CONSTRUCTIVE proposal for changes or form of education. Get off the back of
the BoD!!! Se the proper procedures for change and if you are not
knowledgeable of the protocol contact your nearest Director who has a book
full of instructions (called the Procedures Manual).

Another thing. The Vet Manual is being re written at this time. Has any one
approached the Vet Committee with suggestions on what they would like to see
there??? Just like voting, Don't vote. Don't bitch. Here if you don't speak
up while the work is being done then shut up later!!

This is the crux of the problem here. You state in one breath that the
legal
threshold limit is zero and in the next breath that the AERC reviews the
test as
so as not to penalize riders who inadvertently have traces ...

Either it is zero or it is not zero. If it not zero, then the written rule
should reflect this. The AERC members have a right to know what the real
levels
are. The BOD should not be playing "I've got a secret" on this issue.
