Ti, Heidi, what have you all heard about these Bio Scans? Is this for
 real or is it Memorex?

There are two parts to the BioScan apparatus. The BioFinder is a little and
that measures impedence--you run it over the horse and it finds injuries,
pockets of fat and acupuncture points. When we tested the unit against
infrared thermography, if it was used carefully, it found the same areas of
inflammation that the thermography did. But it was tricky to use--too much
pressure at the sensitivity where it would tell you something and the
intrument would find "false positives".

As far as the treatment half of the devices is concerned, we found no effect
thermographically. That is, no reduction in inflammatory processes.
Simultaneously, we were testing a contact laser diode pad and that did show
inflammation reduction, but it got hot during treatment and we were not sure
whether the benefits were due to heat or the laser light.

There is some positive science on laser diode treatment. However, it's all a
little loosey-goosey at this point. Let us know what happens.
