Black horses at endurance rides

Kristi,
The color of the horse has nothing to do with its ability to complete an
endurance ride. What counts in endurance completions is a combination of
the ability of the horse, the horse's individual metabolism, the
condition of the horse, and the skill and ability of the rider.
Sometimes trail conditions and rider decisions on the trail can affect
the horse's performance. Color is not a factor. You do not see many
black horses at endurance rides due to the fact that most of us ride
Arabians and black is a rare color in that breed.
If you take good care of Pride, condition him properly, and take care of
him on the trail, the two of you should have many miles and years of
endurance trail riding ahead of you.
God bless you and Pride. May you two make a good team for a long time.
Lucie
