Iodized salt is primarily NaCl with approximately 0.006
percent to 0.01 percent potassium iodide added.  The purpose
of adding KI (potassium iodide) to common table salt is to
prevent diseases related to iodine deficiency in the diet.

Therefore, 1 kg of iodized salt would contain approximately
60 to 100 mg of KI. Unless iodized salt is a major portion
of a horse's diet for some weird reason, I wouldn't think
iodized vs. non-iodized salt would be a big issue. For the
purpose of an electrolyte solution, the amount of KI would
be negligible at most.

FWIW, some seaweeds are an economic source of iodine (thus
the incidence of iodine poisoning related to routine
consumption of some seaweed products).
