Preble's Mouse and Endangered Endurance Rides

We have a serious situation in SE Wyoming and along the Colorado Front Range. The Preble's mouse has been listed as a threatened species and my Shamrock 3-day endurance ride may be in jeopardy of being cancelled if the Fish and Wildlife Service does not apply the "4d rule" to this classification. Areas in Wheatland fall into Mouse Protection areas and the landowner will be closing his land to any outside interests if the "4d rule doesn't apply. The "4d rule " allows for "incidental taking" in normal farming and ranching practices  otherwise the listing could result in the condemnation of public and private land. I'm asking all people who have an interest in preserving trails to write to the US Fish and Wildlife Service and urge them to apply the 4d rule to the Preble's Mouse listing. Even if you live in other parts of the country, I need your help. The Shamrock has existed for 8 years and people come from all over to enjoy this ride. Please contact your Congressperson and the US Fish and Wildlife  Service and voice you concern. We can't afford to lose any rides.  If you have questions please e-mail me. Thanks
