Joint ill?

Hi Ridecampers,
Someone suggested to me that perhaps the foal I described in my previous
post (help with diagnosis) might be suffering from navel ill.  I read
what little I could find on it in one of my old vet books and
supposedly,  left untreated it can lead to joint ill which is right in
line with what is happening with this foal (as far as I can see). 
Anybody else have experience with this that could shed some light for
me?  Thanks to everyone!!!  Unfortunately, I think this foal has
suffered some permanent damage and will never recover.
