Trot vs Canter

Hi, campers,

   De lurking here for a moment..well, maybe two moments. Does anyone rememer 
Gladys Brown Edwards? She used to write  a column for Arabian Horse World as 
well as writing several books on Arabs. She served as secretary or perhaps 
historian at Cal Poly.
 If memory serves me correctly, I think she wrote that the trot was not a 
natural gait for an Arabian. Not that they could not trot, just that they 
would canter if given the choice.
