Beet pulp again

Ridecampers,

I'm wondering if any of you beet pulp proponents have heard of a beet
pulp-based pellet called Triple Crown Complete. It is 11% protein, 8%
fat, and their is no need to soak it, it's ready to feed.

I've been re-introducing beet pulp back into my mare's diet as a way of
giving her enough calories without all the grain. In addition to a
pound (dry) of beet pulp & a few glugs of corn oil she eats high quality
grass hay and less than 2 lbs per day of a 10% pellet (also Triple Crown
feeds). Any more grain than this and she's high as a kite, but I'm
concerned about her getting enough vitamins and minerals on so little
grain. She's on pasture for about 8 hours a day once the grass comes
in. We're in NY.

We're only conditioning for 25 mile CTRs so I may be going overboard and
fiddling too much. I agree with Abby in that we can all stand to learn
how to be critical thinkers, and benefit from the many sources on this
list.

Just thought you'd all want to know about this new feed; I'm considering
using it. More info may be found at their website, I think this is it:

http://www.triplecrownfeed.com

There may be an "s" at the end of feed in the URL.

Kindest regards,

Laurel H.
