Re: RC: sportsmanship

The first time I encountered a gate, I was graciously taught how to do it
in a Sportsmanlike way. I had gotten off Jake to open the fence, and by
the time I had it opened, a group of three riders came up and went
through. Not only did they wait for me to close the gate and mount, but
they told me to go on ahead and then they waited until I was a good
distance from them, a distance that was at least equal to the distance
they were behind me when I stopped to get off. I was amazed at their kind
behavior and I follow that rule to this day.
