What kind of grain are you feeding? Do you feed any pelleted feed? The
boarding stable where I board suggested feeding my mare a 12% pelleted feed (
she lost weight after having a baby and had trouble putting it back on) and
wetting it. They used warm water. It will be absorbed by the time you get to
the stall to feed it. We fed her 3 times per day for 2 months. Probably
could've gone to 2 times, but it really worked. She gained her weight and
she's keeping it. I don't have to wet it anymore. The horses really like it
wet. That's how they keep the weight on the Thorobreds there. Hope this helps,
