Pioneer Award Event???

Hi guys,
	Would someone please tell me what an AERC Pioneer Award Event is?  I am
CLUELESS!  The Montell Ride this weekend is called the Montell Cliffhanger
and Pioneer, what is the Pioneer thing?   BTW, I might mention the
concession idea to the Ride Manager.  We've got lots of great cooks down
here. :-)
