adding weight

I'd recommend giving him free choice hay/alfalfa or whatever forage your feeding. LEt him have as much as he wants. Also you could add beet pulp. Buy the pellets and soak about 1 lb in about 3 galloons of water for several hours or over night and mix your grain and all suppliments in it. It will absorb all the water and be very moist. Introduce them to it slowly, usually they love it.

Check the archives as there should be tons ofinfo on beet pulp and putting weight on.

I am training for my first 100 ride and I am having a hard time
keeping weight on my horse with the increased work load. I currently feed
him grain mixed with sweetfeed, molasses, and canola oil. Should I just feed
him more of what I am feeding already or is there something with a higher
fat content I could try? Any ideas would be appreciated.
