Minimum and maximum times with scoring for horse condition define
competitive (trail) riding.  Umecra in the USA Midwest offers such rides at
all of their rides.  LD is a different beast and useful for different
purposes.  The AERC at the convention finally voted to recognize CTR and
other rides sanctioned by other organizations.  A big step forward.  I
expect to see more CTR offered along with endurance rides all over the
country.  It will remove a lot of the gripes about LD.
