Hello to the Trailriding list!!

Having ridden and owned horses most of my life, I am seeking information
about endurance riding as a competitive outlet. I find that I am less than
impressed with the "showring" but I feel that I could really enjoy the
opportunities offered on the trail.

I currently own four horses: 20+ yo Palomino 1/2Arab; 10 yo quarter; 10 yo
Hackney; 3.5 yo Paint gelding. I bought the Paint at 11 months and started
him myself. I find that he is very soft, responsive, quiet and really
enjoys the trail. I know he is too young for "regular" events but if I
take a year to condition him in preparation for competition in 2000, he
would be old enough by then. So, where do I start? Is there anyone in my
area who can fill me in on places to do long conditioning rides in the
Wichita, Kansas vicinity? Where do I find the best info to help me become
well versed in this sport, etc?.........

I live just south of Wichita and would like to network with others in this
area. Please feel free to send private e-mail to me at
spclk@southwind.net.
